For those of you who are currently working in sports or aspiring to, you've found the right place. I'm Kadence, and I'm here to officially welcome you to my blog, Women Working in Sports!

Who I Am

Only six short months ago, I found myself in a challenging period of my life as a lost college student working in childcare. Despite the joy that came from working with kids, I came home with feelings of unhappiness and dissatisfaction each day. Deep down, I felt that I was meant for something different, something that would fulfill me and exercise my passions, but I had no idea how to obtain what I wanted.

I spent countless hours researching various career options, diving deep into information on different fields, and reflecting on my own interests and skills. My focus eventually narrowed down to the world of sports, a field that had always fascinated me. I envisioned myself contributing my skills and ideas to this vibrant industry, yet the more I looked into it, the more I became aware of the barriers that exist, particularly for young women like myself.

I encountered the harsh reality that the sports industry can be particularly challenging for women. I attended several career fairs for jobs in sports where I was one of very few women in the room. I faced numerous obstacles, including a lack of representation and the stereotypes that often discourage women from pursuing careers in this male-dominated field. These realizations fueled my determination to create my own path and help other women, like you, do the same.

Why I'm Here

I am now fortunate enough to work for the Colorado Rockies with some of the most incredible women who are actively paving the way for female representation in sports, and I want to share their stories as well. In my future blog posts, I'll share stories, insights, tips & tricks, and discussions about the obstacles that women overcome in this industry.

Whether you're already working in sports, a student (like me) dreaming of joining the industry, or simply interested in powerful women changing the game, this is a space for learning, inspiration, and community.
